Benjamin Sadd is an award-winning cinematographer and filmmaker with over a decade of experience working across natural history, documentary, adventure and advertising. Comfortable working independently or as part of a larger team, he has filmed in some of the world's most challenging and remote environments, bringing a cinematic and observational approach to his work.
His credits include Series DoP on Netflix's four-part series Chimp Empire, Principal Photography on Netflix's A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough, and Director of Photography on Episode 6 of the BBC's Kingdom. He has also filmed sequences for major blue-chip natural history productions including Frozen Planet II and National Geographic's Africa: Earth's Wild Side. Other credits include the multi-award-winning documentary Jago: A Life Underwater, Rise of the Warrior Apes, and Humanlike: The Chimps of Fongoli for PBS and Love Nature.
Benjamin has extensive experience with long-lens natural history, stabilised camera systems and remote-location filming, and is a CAA-approved drone operator. He is particularly interested in creating cinematic images that feel immersive and authentic, whether observing wildlife or following people in challenging environments.
Alongside documentary and natural history, Benjamin is developing his work in narrative filmmaking, with a growing portfolio of scripted drama and short films. His work is driven by a fascination with how people and wildlife interact with the environments around them, and a belief that beautiful cinematography can both tell compelling stories and deepen our connection to the natural world.
